Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Jack Cawthon’s Bar-B-Que in Nashville, TN is looking for one Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are located at 446 Broadway, 1601 Charlotte Avenue and 334 W Trinity Ln. Qualified applicants for the Maintenance position must be self-starter and will work independently to manage projects and actively maintain the facilities and equipment for our 3 restaurants. The Maintenance Technician will perform facility enhancement projects, complete necessary building & appliance repairs, and perform preventive procedures in a manner responsive to customer/employee safety and to preserve company assets in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Compensation: $22.00 / hr to $26.00 /hr

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain business maintenance for all 3 locations
  • Must be available on call for major equipment repairs that will affect the restaurant’s ability to open
  • Maintenance and repairs of all cooking appliances and building repairs that include: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and floor tile repairs
  • Facilities enhancement projects
  • Responsible for minor plumbing and refrigeration repairs
  • Completes repair orders as assigned. Give priority items preference and advises manager of any delays
  • Inspects building & equipment upon arrival at each location for any issues that need to be addressed
  • Maintains inventory of parts, tools, equipment and other items
  • Performs duties as prescribed in the Preventive Maintenance System
  • Ensures that building and equipment are maintained in a safe manner, and that all repairs are made as specified by manufacturer
  • Complies with company policies on safety at all time while performing work efficiently while protecting self, fellow workers and customers

APPLIANCE REPAIRS

  • Repair all gas & electrical appliances including: Toaster, food warmers, ovens

GENERAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE

  • Repair & replacement of doors, door locks and hinges
  • Repair to floor tile
  • Repairs to walls
  • Miscellaneous carpentry work
  • Addition and replacement of circuit breakers
  • Replace switches and receptacles
  • Replace motors
  • Minor roof leak repairs
  • Minor electrical repairs including light switches, receptacles, circuit breakers and wiring
  • Recovering booth upholstery
  • Painting

PLUMBING REPAIRS

  • Repair/Replace faucets
  • Repair urinal & commode flushometers
  • Replace sink drain lines (above floor)
  • Installation/replacement of hot water tank

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in repairing & servicing commercial food service equipment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must have knowledge and plumbing experience (copper & PVC)
  • Must have a basic knowledge of electrical circuitry & wiring
  • Must be able to walk & stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently reach, carry, bend, twist, kneel & squat
  • Must be able to lift & carry 100 lbs on occasion
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and not have an issue with heights
  • Must be able work in various weather conditions
  • Must pass reference check & criminal background check
  • Must have necessary tools

BBQ Line Crew

Job Responsibilities

As a Crew Member, your main responsibility will be to prepare and serve delicious food while providing our customers with the best possible dining experience. We will teach you to consistently follow the proper recipes and procedures and adhere to our high standards regarding meal preparation, cleaning and sanitation, teamwork, and customer service.

Your specific duties in this entry level retail food service role will include:

  • Preparing meal orders accurately, neatly, and quickly
  • Following recipes accurately and according to approved preparation processes
  • Maintaining appropriate portion control and consistently monitoring food levels on the line
  • Following sanitation standards and maintaining proper handling and safety standards while preparing and cooking
  • Learning all of our work stations, including Butcher, Vegetables, Register, and Cook.
  • Providing friendly, quality retail customer service to each customer; taking feedback and direction from your supervisor to ensure your continued improvement

Job Requirements

As a Jacks Crew Member, you must have a positive and cheerful personality along with a strong work ethic and the motivation to learn and grow while providing the best in customer service. Teamwork is a big part of this job, and you should always be willing to pitch in to help when something needs to be done. It is also important that you have great communication skills and the ability to not only speak clearly, but also to listen attentively to both our guests and your coworkers.

Specific qualifications for this entry level food service position include:

  • High school diploma or GED
